Störende Wahrheiten - die Entzauberung der Welt Lorentzweiler

“Doheem” invites us to imagine a shared home – one that is shaped by connection, compassion, and lived community. In a time marked by increasing individualism and exclusion, the project reminds us that home is more than just a physical place. It is a feeling of belonging that we create together. Through the "reenchantment of the world," a space emerges where magic, wonder, and togetherness can be rediscovered. This work is a call for empathy, collaboration, and the belief that what we create together is often more beautiful than anything we could dream up alone.

As part of the exhibition “Disturbing Truths – The Disenchantment of the World”, I (Aurélie d’Incau) proposed creating an artwork specifically with and for the community of Lorentzweiler. The result was the piece “Doheem: Lorenzo Alfredo”, a portrait of the shared meaning of “home” in Lorentzweiler.

Almost 50 people responded to my question, “What does home mean to you?” In addition to many drawings, I also collected poems, stories, and old family photos. All of these impressions flowed into the creation of Lorenzo Alfredo.

Even though the small house on wheels cannot hold all of Lorentzweiler, the feelings, thoughts, and memories still find a shared home within it.
